RAWALPINDI:
The Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi bench on Thursday suspended an order from the election commission of Pakistan which had de-seated 17 members of Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation (RMC) elected on reserved seats in December last year. Justice Shahid Waheed of LHC’s Rawalpindi bench allowed the RMC members to continue their work and asked the election commission to submit their detailed response within two days. The ECP had disqualified the RMC members following a petition filed by two women, one from PML-N and other from PTI.
