Now you can even 'react' to comments on Facebook

The new reaction feature has been rolled out on desktops

Love them or hate them, Facebook's Reactions are here to stay. It’s been over a year since Facebook rolled out its expanded “Reactions” feature which allows its users to express a range of emotions – “like, love, haha, wow, sad or angry.”

Facebook may know you better than you know yourself

The feature has now been extended to comments. Now you can not only react to posts on Facebook or messages on Messenger but also to comments. So, why should you bother about replying to someone’s comment when you can show your affection by simply reacting with a “Heart” emoji. Right?

The new reaction feature appears to be rolling out slowly on desktops, so it might take some time before it shows up for everyone. There’s no word on when it will arrive on mobile. In order to add reactions to comments, just hover over the Like button and you’ll see the six default reaction options.

As to why the social media giant decided to bring the reactions feature to comments, a Facebook spokesperson told Mashable, “We’ve heard from people they’d like more ways to show their reaction in conversations on Facebook, so we’re rolling out the ability to react to comments."

Did Facebook let advertisers target teens with low self-esteem?

However, there is no animation after you click a reaction button, unlike the Messenger’s mobile implementation.

Whether the expansion of reactions to comments was long overdue or is something that shouldn't have made it off the drawing board, depends on how you feel about the cartoonish emojis.
