Indian Army on Wednesday said it will retaliate against Pakistani forces alleged mutilation of Indian soldiers' bodies at a time and place of its choosing.

"Pakistani forces have done the killing and mutilation, they have to take responsibility and face the consequences", The Hindu quoted Vice Chief of the Army Staff Lt Gen Sarath Chand as saying. Chand said the Indian army would not discuss its plans in public.

“We will do it at the time and place of our choosing,” he added. Further, blaming Pakistan Army for the attack on its soldiers along the Line of Control (LoC), Chand questioned, "They said today their forces have not done it. Then who has done it? They have done it and they have to take responsibility and face the consequences."

According to a source, local action will continue as per routine, but "a major retaliation will be a well-thought-out one."

On Monday, Indian army claimed that Pakistani forces killed two Indian soldiers and mutilated their bodies along the LoC. It said the Pakistani troops opened fire on Indian posts in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district, and members of Border Action Team (BAT) attacked a patrolling party.

However, the Pakistan Army  rubbished the allegations. “Pakistan Army did not commit any ceasefire violation on the Line of Control or a BAT [Border Action Team] action in the Buttal sector (Indian Krishna Ghatti Sector) as alleged by India,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.

326 | 7 years ago | Reply Does this mean, India is accepting a successful surgical strike by Pakistan in India? When India did surgical strike, Pakistan didnt accept that. India had to give fake medals to its troops for the world to know about the strike. India even tried creating a fake film of the strike as a proof. Where as Pakistan did a surgical strike and not accepting it. But India is trying to prove to the world that Pakistan did it even though Pakistan is not accepting. How can India be that dumb. How can India prove to her tax payers that their army is a big pile of crap where enemy comes in, kills their soldiers, "mutilates" their bodies and walks back to Pakistan unharmed and meanwhile Indian army was busy making videos about the quality of food being served. What a shame!
Aleem | 7 years ago | Reply Every two years this nonsense about "mutilation" of bodies come up. As if Pakistanis are animals and take pleasure in chopping ears and noses off. GoI should stop deceiving their public. Islamically and militarily, we have never had a precedence for mutilating bodies. Show the pictures if this is such a big issue. If they have been hit by artillery or machine gun fire upclose, their bodies are bound to be shredded. Secondly, what about the many Pakistani soldiers that have been mutilated by the Indian troops in the past? Its a well known thing that Indians have done the same and more in contravention of the Geneva convention. If they mutilate Pakistani troops, then there will be payback for them as well.
