In Neelum hospital, patients await doctors

MUZAFFARABAD: Patients at the District Headquarters Hospital in Neelum district often have to wait for doctors because the health facility lacks sufficient staff.

This was revealed during a visit of the DHQ in Athmuqam by the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Health Secretary Major General Khalid.

While observing facilities at the hospital, he said that the shortage of doctors at the facility would be overcome soon to facilitate patients in the area.

He inspected different wards of the hospital and was briefed by Dr Anwar Bhut about facilities and different issues which the hospital faced.

The Health secretary added that the strength of nursing staff in all hospitals of Azad Kashmir have been doubled while the overall strength of staff has risen to 950.

Moreover, special emergency units have been set up in every district hospital, he added. He assured the DHQ administration that their issues would be forwarded to the ministry of health and he himself will make necessary arrangements in this regard.
