Growing speculation has many political commentators concerned about the possibility of Donald Trump pressing the nuclear button, but, of late, the US president has been made privy to another button.

This rectangular box is placed on the Resolute Desk which Presidents have used for decades.

President Trump’s habitual liking for the soda was revealed in an interview ahead of his 100th day as president.

“With the push of a red button placed on the Resolute Desk that presidents have used for decades, a White House butler soon arrived with a Coke for the president,” wrote the journalist Julian Pace.

In January, a CNN reporter shared a photo of the billionaire with a glass of Coke close to his hand on the Resolute Desk.

Mr Trump’s penchant for junk food has been widely documented. From eating a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken to a McDonald’s burger and fries to celebrate winning the Republican presidential nomination.
