"Model courts have achieved the desired results and we have achieved this without changing the law and through the teamwork of judges and lawyers," Justice Saqib Nisar said while addressing participants of the Punjab judicial academy on Saturday.
"I will not be able to forgive myself if, we [judiciary], do not fulfill our constitutional, legal and ethical responsibility," he added.

The CJP stressed that cases pending with the courts should be disposed off at the earliest because any person whose rights have been usurped cannot remain patient.
Justice Saqib Nisar said the role of lawyers is vital in dispensing justice, saying there are several loopholes in the investigation of criminal cases followed by the release of those accused, for which the courts are blamed. Earlier, senior judge, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, observed that the state had started implementing laws. The establishment of model courts is an important step towards resolving cases relating to household affairs, Khosa added. "Cases can be disposed off within days if police render their responsibilities effectively," he said, adding that, "it is up to a trial judge to fulfill their responsibilities once challan in a case is produced in the trial court."
