A single shot was fired by a police officer in a Berlin hospital on Thursday, and the person struck was injured, a police spokesperson said, without providing further details.

Broadcaster RBB reported on Twitter that police had sealed off a wide area around the hospital, which is located in the Kreuzberg district of Germany's capital.
