Nisar forwards Dawn leaks report to PM Nawaz

The recommendations of the report have been made unanimously by all the committee members

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Wednesday forwarded the Dawn leaks Enquiry Committee report to the prime minister.

The recommendations of the report have been made unanimously by all the committee members. The report was completed in over six months, during which the committee met six times, a statement issued said.

The committee, headed by Justice (retd) Amir Raza Khan, included Secretary Establishment Tahir Shahbaz, Ombudsman Punjab Najam Saeed, Director Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Usman Anwar and a representative each of Military Intelligence, Inter-Services Intelligence and Intelligence Bureau.

Govt unlikely to make Dawn leaks report public

The committee initially constituted a sub-committee, which was headed by the secretary establishment. The sub-committee met 16 times for examination of witnesses and scrutiny of all the record.

Action on the recommendations would be taken after approval by the prime minister, the statement added.
