KARACHI: Using a unique medium of drawing and painting, artist Sana Kazi delved into a quest of meeting her Creator, not with the intention of 'aspiring for death, but to begin a life hereafter'.

Kazi's exhibition, titled 'A Secret', opened at the Sanat Gallery Tuesday evening.

While talking about her collection, in which she has toyed with the medium of dry pigments with wood ashes in wasli, Kazi said, "This collection is my passion and take on my search for my Creator. There is this One Being who has created us and one needs to understand that it is my humble quest for meeting Him, not with an aspiration of meeting death, but to see Him and the life hereafter," Kazi said.

She made the pigments through the use of wood ashes and has used a fiery colour palette.

"We are all looking to get connected to our Mentor between gaps of two different connotations about ashes, 'rise up from the ashes' and 'reduced to ashes'," Kazi said.

The exhibition continues till May 4.
