It's no secret that women all over the world are paid less than their male counterparts, even if they're doing the same work. On an average, women make only 80 cents for every dollar earned by men.

To prove this point, Forbes Brazil put forth a campaign titled 'Equal Pay Billionaires'. The campaign takes three of the most recognisable faces from its list of world's billionaires and imagines how their wealth would compare had they been women.

These are the richest people on the planet

Created by Oglivy Brazil, Bill Gates becomes 'Billie Gates' in a photoshop makeover. Bill Gates who holds the first spot on the Forbes list, would earn 21 per cent less if he were a woman, thus dropping to the fourth spot.

Mark Zuckerburg, renamed 'Marcia Zuckerburg' would fall from the fifth spot to the eleventh spot. His fortune of $56 billion would drop to $44 billion if he were a woman.

The third billionaire reimagined as a female is Mexico's Carlos Slim. As a man Slim is at number 6 on the list but 'Carla' would earn 17 per cent less as a woman  bringing her down to number 11.

Shedding light on pay parity, AdWeek points out women have to deal with many more factors which can alter their fortunes. In the actual billionaires list, women start appearing at number 14. That spot is taken by Liliane Bettencourt of L’Oréal, whose fortune of $39.5 billion. She's the richest woman in history, but her fortune get a boost due to her inheritance.

This is the same with woman who follow her. Alice Walton comes in at number 17, whose $33.8 billion fortune comes from Walmart, which was founded by her dad.

At number 29 is Maria Franca Fissolo who owns Ferrero SpA, the makers of Nutella. The company was founded by her husband.

One has to go all the way down to number 186 to find a 'self made' woman. That spot goes to Zhou Qunfei and her fortune is $7.4 billion, which is a small amount when compared to others.
