Not only is bhindi (okra) in season, it is light, perfect for the summer and delicious. A great source of dietary fiber, minerals, and vitamins; it is often commended by nutritionists for its cholesterol regulating qualities.

It is also a joy to cook with; you can fry it, braise it, put it in a salad or make a lip-smacking curry. Bhindi pairs beautifully with tomatoes, tamarind, yoghurt and a variety of spices. Here are our favourite recipes to enjoy Bhindi while it is still in season.
