Is it by avoiding our cultural ethics?
KARACHI: Fashion shows have become a frequent occurrence in Pakistan. Every year brings at least four to five fashion weeks where fashion designers showcase their best collections. But their designs in Pakistan are very surprising. The meaning of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has perhaps gone from our country. With frequent fashion shows, Western culture is influencing our country and modesty is being compromised. Muslim women at the shows, as models or presenters, wear clothes that reflect the West. We need to ask ourselves where we want to stand as a society in the world and at what cost? Is it by avoiding our cultural ethics? Fashion designers should consider this and think about our culture before designing dresses.
