Violent end: Woman shoots self dead in Batapur

LAHORE: A 35-year-old woman reportedly committed suicide in Batapur on Saturday. Her family and her husband told the magistrate Samia had mental health issues and was under treatment. SP Cantonment Rana Tahir said the victim committed suicide by shooting herself as she was suffering from some psychological problems.

The victim was the wife of Kashif Jutt, the Jallo Park Council chairperson of PML-N. The man initially told police his wife was shot dead under mysterious circumstances. Their three-year-old daughter was playing with a pistol when it went off and the bullet hit the victim. Police collected forensic evidence and recorded statements of witnesses. Later during interrogation, the family said the victim had committed suicide.
