In an aggressive show against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari claimed on Friday that his party will soon send the PM packing “just as it threw out former military dictator Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf”.

“Today the Sindh government has passed a resolution supporting the notion of ‘Go Nawaz Go’ and we will force the incumbent rulers to leave,” Zardari said while addressing a rally in Shah Jeewana, Jhang. “This time, we will conquer this area [Jhang] and eliminate the Sharifs.”

In a jibe aimed at the prime minister, the PPP leader said the time had come for the former to go home.

Step down if SC rules against you, Zardari tells Nawaz

He said the PPP will keep following PM Nawaz until “we take you out of the PM House”. “This is my first rally against you and this is just the start… you will see what happens in days to come… I will hold rallies all over the country against you,” he claimed.

The PPP co-chairman welcomed former federal minister Faisal Saleh Hayat into the PPP fold. “I welcome Faisal Saleh Hayat for rejoining his own family and hope that he will support us in reconquering the Punjab,” he said.

Talking about the 2013 general elections, Zardari claimed his party did not lose the polls but became a casualty of “returning officer elections”.

Bilawal asks PM to resign

Earlier, while addressing party workers at the rally, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said the Supreme Court’s verdict in Panama case had proven that the country had different laws for the rich and the poor.

“The Panama case verdict has proven that we have two Pakistans and two laws. One Pakistan and law is for the Sharifs, and other Pakistan and law is for the poor people… No one can hold the Sharifs responsible for their loot and plunder… They can kill people in Model Town in broad daylight but no institution can dare take action against them,” he said.

With one voice, PTI, PPP ask Nawaz to resign

Referring to his grandfather Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s execution, the PPP chairman lamented that while one elected prime minister is hanged on the basis of a 4/3 verdict, another is exonerated on the basis of 3/2. “When will we see these parallel justice systems come to an end,” he asked.

Demanding that the prime minister step down, Bilawal said, “You have not been exonerated completely. Two senior judges wanted to disqualify you. If you have any morality left, you should immediately resign.”

Did Zardari and Bilawal need Panamagate to prove duality of justice at play in Pakistan, especially when they are seasoned hands at playing that game themselves ?!Recommend
