FAISALABAD: The National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF) is playing a major role in providing highly trained manpower for the banking sector of Pakistan as well as regional countries, said NIBAF Senior Joint Director and Training Manager Allahuddin Achakzai.

Speaking to participants of the 44th International Commercial Banking Course at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI), he said that commercial banks were part and parcel of economic growth.

Under the training programme, bankers from different countries would have an opportunity to interact directly with the business tycoons of Faisalabad, who were dealing with exports and commercial banks of different countries, said Achakzai.

“This visit will also help to fully understand the economic importance of Faisalabad and its linkages with commercial banks,” he said, adding the practical knowledge would help them to introduce qualitative as well as quantitative improvements in their banks.

FCCI Senior Vice President Rana Sikandar Azam welcomed the foreign delegates and said NIBAF was extending best services to the bankers hailing from different countries.

Responding to questions of the foreign delegates, FCCI Vice President Ahmed Hassan said, “One Belt One Road is a game changer, which will connect 72% population of the world.”

He said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor had not yet been fully understood and it would give 10 times more benefit than expected.

Hassan said the R&D section of the FCCI was critically analysing the mega project while “we have also published a comprehensive study paper on it”.
