India wants to build the world's tallest structure, but people aren't excited

The government was urged to first follow Dubai's model of cleanliness, provision of basic amenities

According to reports, the country wants to erect a structure taller than the 828-metre (2,717 ft) landmark in Dubai. The 163-floor Burj Khalifa also has the world's highest observation desk, which was added in 2014, a few years after the building was opened to the public.

The fresh idea is part of the government's "dream project" to beautifying large swathes of industrial wasteland by way of establishing green boulevards, recreation centres, maritime museums and, of course, lavish buildings.



However, the tall claims seem to be falling flat as Indians have urged the government to provide basic amenities instead.
