I think the best way to improve ties between India and Pakistan is through trade.
KHAIRPUR MIRS: The whole of the country and India as well must be eagerly waiting for the semi-final match between Pakistan and India. Of course, there will be people who will see that the state of relations is so bad that both countries need to rely on a cricket match to improve relations. I think the best way to improve ties is through trade. This should be preceded by establishment of confidence-building measures on both sides. Given that Pakistan and India share a long border they need to find what goods and services are demanded or in short supply across the border and trade in them. That would be the surest way of improving bilateral ties.
