Security beefed up for Easter

SSP further directed that security should be raised around Christian colonies, churches, graveyards & public places

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police has beefed up security for Easter related activities in the city.

Before Easter: Good Friday observed in Karachi

The move came after SSP-Operations Sajid Kiani directed all police officials to ensure high vigilance and effective security for the event. All zonal officers have been asked hold meetings with church administrations about security related issues.

SSP Kiani further directed that security should be raised around Christian colonies, churches, graveyards and public places. Subsequently, SP City Zubair Ahmed Sheikh held a meeting with the administration of churches.

He assigned security duties to policemen and asked for enhancing checking as well as to maintain complete coordination with the administration of churches. He said that proper parking arrangements should be made and high vigilance should be maintained against suspects.

Likewise, SP-Rural Dr Syed Tanveer Mustafa and SP-Saddar Hassan Iqbal had beefed up security in their respective areas.
