RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has issued notices to the owner of a large shopping mall, located in a private housing society, and an advertising firm for claiming that the project had been approved by the authority.

In the notice, a copy of which is available with The Express Tribune, the chief executive officers of Iqbal Real Estate and Builders and chief executive officer of First Marketing Consultant were warned to stop advertising false claims about an upcoming mall in the city.

In the letter, written by the directorate of metropolitan planning and traffic engineering of RDA, the authorities noted that the advertisements carried in two leading Urdu dailies on March 30 and April 10 were misleading for the general public. The notice said that the owner and the advertiser need to stop advertisements which claimed that the project had been approved by RDA.
