It is ironical that man created these gadgets to kill his solitude

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA: The “old is gold” maxim is widely acknowledged and appreciated but, lamentably, it has remained restricted to books only. In modern epoch, mankind has shunned primitive learning and conventions. The 21st century is marked by stupendous development in the technical industry. The robotics industry has almost overtaken every field of life. If we critically cast a glance at our surroundings, we will discover that our lives are completely in the claws of scientific gadgets.

In educational department, textbooks, whiteboards and playgrounds are replaced by smart-boards, tabs, laptops and projectors. There is no disputing the fact that advanced learning has endowed students with higher intellectual level but the darker side of the coin is, it has rusted the ability of human brain to function. Pupils have become slaves to these gadgets and lost their skills to write creatively, think wisely and solve calculatedly. These all are the gifts of technical knowledge.

The mobile invention is another triumph technologically. It has devoured almost every utility. Alarm clock is displaced, colossal playgrounds and sport stadiums are squeezed into 4.7 inches screens and personal journals, contact diaries and newspapers are folded into software. Moreover, human relations are substituted by these communication devices. The folktales of grand-parents, mother’s affection, quality family time, all have been embalmed by cell phones. It is ironical that man created these gadgets to kill his solitude.
