According to the government record, there are around 18 ministers and nine special assistants in the provincial cabinet. With the induction of Lanjar, the size of cabinet extends to 19 ministers.

“As per the law, the government can appoint only 18 ministers. It seems that the provincial government will remove a minister to adjust Lanjar, a close aide of the party leadership,” official sources said.

Social Welfare Minister Shamim Mumtaz surrendered her ministry and was appointed an adviser to the chief minister.

Lanjar was given the portfolio of the law department, which was earlier held by the chief minister.
