Judicial remand: Nine sent to jail for gambling

Lawyers for the suspects contended their clients have been implicated in forged cases.

LAHORE:
A judicial magistrate sent nine suspects on a 14-day judicial remand for their alleged involvement in gambling. Naseerabad and Gulberg police produced the nine men before the magisterial court, claiming the suspects were caught red-handed while gambling. The lawyers for the suspects contended their clients have been implicated in forged cases merely to humiliate and blackmail them. The judge, however, sent the accused persons on judicial remand after hearing the arguments.
