SUKKUR: The body of a minor boy was found in an open manhole in Labour Colony, Mirpur Mathelo, on Saturday.

The boy had been missing since Friday evening. Eight-year-old Uzair Ahmed Soomro, son of Mohammad Juman Soomro, a resident of Labour Colony, went out to play on Friday evening but did not return home that night. His parents conducted a search but could not find the boy.

On Saturday, his body was found in an open manhole near his house. Reports from Mirpur Mathelo say that most of the manholes in Labour Colony are without covers, due to which sewerage water often accumulates in the area.
