President summons Senate, NA sessions next week

Upper and lower houses of parliament will discuss overall political and security situation in the country

President Mamnoon Hussain has summoned Senate session on April 10, reported Radio Pakistan on Saturday.

According to details, the president has also convened a National Assembly (NA) session on April 12th.

Besides the legislative business, the upper and lower houses of Parliament are expected to discuss the overall political and security situation in the country in their respective sessions.

Senate waves through military courts bill

On March 28th, the Senate during its session approved the 28th Constitutional Amendment Bill, consummating the parliamentary process to revive military courts for another two years.

The NA had earlier passed the legislation and sent it to the Senate for approbation.

President Hussain on March 31st gave his assent to an amendment in the Constitution granting legal cover to military courts for two years.
