AJK plans tourism corridor along CPEC

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government are planning to build a tourism corridor in the valley to facilitate travellers coming to visit scenic spots.
The project will be part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). “Around 190 kilometres-long tourism corridor will be constructed in the state under the CPEC project,” AJK President Masood Khan said on Thursday.
The initiative was part of the mega project to lay 1,450 kilometres-long new roads in the valley, he said while talking to a delegation of investors from Karachi in Muzaffarabad.
“The estimated cost of this infrastructure project is around Rs22 billion,” he told the investors.
The AJK government, he said, is also taking concrete steps to upgrade the existing infrastructure in the territory.
