Pakistan mission in UK hosts reception for Gen Qamar Bajwa

Army chief General Qamar Bajwa, who is in the United Kingdom on a three-day official visit, has hailed the role of overseas Pakistanis towards the country's progress.

In a reception hosted by the Pakistan High Commission in UK, the army chief met members of the Pakistani community, assuring them that the military shall perform its due role for the country's security, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Tuesday.



“The army chief apprised them about the environment in Pakistan, achievements in efforts against terrorism, and projected its results through the whole-of-nation approach, the military's media wing added.

"All Pakistanis expressed their pride in role and contributions of Pakistan Army towards well being of Pakistan."

Gen Qamar on Monday visited the UK's Ministry of Defence, where he vowed that Pakistan would continue its positive role in bringing about peace and stability in Afghanistan.

“Peace in Afghanistan is a shared interest and Pakistan will continue its positive role and is ready to work closely with Afghanistan,” he was quoted as saying.
