Punjab govt announces new school timings

LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced timings to be followed at all public and private schools in the new academic year beginning from April 1.

According to a School Education Department (SED) notification, the schools categorised by timing, shifts and levels were directed to follow the new timing for summer from April 1 to October 15 and winter from October 16 till March 31.

Single shift boys’ schools will remain open between 7:30am and 1pm from Monday till Thursday and Saturday. For Friday, the schools would start at 7:30am to 11:30am.

Single shift girls’ schools have been ordered to convene at 7:45am and end at 1:15pm from Monday till Thursday and Saturday. For Friday, the schools would start at 7:45am and end at 11:45am.

For morning shift schools for boys and girls, the new timings would be 7am to 12pm on Monday through Thursday. For Friday, the schools would start at 7am and close down at 11am.
