ISLAMABAD: Police and Rangers held nine suspects during a search operation in Golra, and recovered weapons and illicit drugs from them.

A police spokesperson said that the search operation was conducted in the morning in Dhok Qureshian, Pind Paracha, Dhok Khokhran, and adjacent areas on the directions of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.

Search operation: Six Afghans among 10 detained

Law enforcement officials checked 130 houses, searched 250 individuals on the spot, and nabbed nine suspects including five Afghan nationals. Weapons, ammunition, daggers, and narcotics were recovered from them.

The suspects were taken to Golra police station for interrogation.

Industrial Area SP Muhammad Hassan Iqbal supervised the search operation while lady commandoes and the bomb disposal squad also participated in it.
