NAB recruits 104 officers on merit, sacks 23
Chairman says not a single appointment has been challenged so far
In order to overcome shortage of staff, National Accountability Bureau has recruited through National Testing Services (NTS) 104 officers from BS-16 to BS-18 on merit and not a single appointment has been challenged by any candidate at any legal forum which shows merit and transparency has been ensured by the present management of NAB.
NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry said the bureau has promoted 137 officers on merit and seniority during the tenure of present management. NAB has also established Internal Accountability System within NAB to weed out inefficient officers. NAB initiated action against 83 officers. Out of 83 officers, 34 officers were given minor penalties while 23 officers were dismissed from service on the basis of misconduct.

NAB has recovered Rs287.415 billion from corrupt and deposited in the national exchequer.
He stressed that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with China to ensure that All CPEC projects will be free from corruption.

NAB has expanded its operations by increasing its regional offices from five to eight.
