The Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue (IRD), of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), took students from various schools of thoughts on a recreational trip to Pir Sohawa. A dialogue and other activities pertaining to inter-sect harmony and the unity of Muslim Ummah were arranged on the trip.

The participants travelled together and made friends with each other on the trip. After many friendly discussions, they concluded that minor sectarian differences should be dealt with on a scholarly level, and vowed to work together to preach Islam. They agreed upon the need to educate the nation about the resemblances, and not the differences that prevailed between the sects.

IRD also arranged a similar activity at Khewra a couple of months ago.

The IIUI Rector lauded the activity and termed it a milestone in the efforts to bring students from different seminaries together.

He said IIUI focuses on producing balanced personalities, and gives core importance to the Islamic values and teachings along with contemporary education. Yasinzai  called upon the Muslim scholars to preach unity among the Muslims and said that Islam advocates patience and respect to the opinion of others.
