Taapsee Pannu starrer 'Naam Shabana' banned across Pakistan

Bollywood spy-action thriller Naam Shabana has been banned by the censor board in Pakistan after a single day of its release.

The Taapsee Pannu starrer was previously criticised as it portrays Pakistan in bad taste.

Now, the censor board of Pakistan has completely banned screening of the movie after one of the cinemas in Islamabad screened the movie without editing the questionable parts.

"One of the cinemas in Islamabad screened the movie with parts that were edited by the censor board," a source revealed to The Express Tribune.

The officials monitoring the movie then stopped the screening of the movie right there and then, the source further added.

The Censor Board then instructed all cinema owners to ban the screening of Naam Shabana.

It is imperative to mention that the movie was already facing some criticism due to the questionable matter which might showcase the country in bad light.

However, the local distributor of the movie, Ever Ready Pictures convinced the censor board to release the movie, which was banned after a day of release due to violation of Censor Board rules and regulations.

Naam Shabana stars Taapsee Pannu and Manoj Bajpai in lead role and was released on 31st March 2017.
