HYDERABAD: Two employees of National Database Registration Authority (NADRA), both brothers, have allegedly been detained by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in separate raids in Jamshoro district.

Although NAB has yet to declare the arrests, Allah Dino Mallah, a public relations officer of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, claimed that his sons, Javed Ali Mallah and Sajid Ali Mallah, have been taken away.

"Dozens of personnel raided my residence on Friday night,” Allah Dino told The Express Tribune. “They also took away Rs700,000 cash, jewellery, documents of property, licences of four weapons and other belongings along with Sajid.”

He also alleged that his elder son, Javed, disappeared two days prior to the raid at his residence. It later emerged that he was in the bureau's custody, he added.

The NAB spokesperson did not respond for their version.

According to Allah Dino, his elder son, Javed, has been working for NADRA for around 10 years and the younger son, Sajid, for about seven years. He said he was unaware of any corruption charge that his sons might be facing.

Meanwhile, Allah Dino filed a petition in the Jamshoro district and sessions court, after which the NAB authorities were ordered to produce the brothers and submit reply on April 6.
