With reference to the news report titled, ‘Govt rejects Pak Suzukis demand, turns down Audis assembly-only plan’, Dewan Farooque Motors Limited stated that it has never “imported any kits after June 30, 2013”. In a statement, the company said that it had pending deliveries at the time of its plant shutdown in 2010 and, after the recent government took office, 908 CKD kits were released for conversion. “The EDB gave us special permission for the limited production of unutilised 908 CKD kits only, which were in-bonded by us on June 30, 2010 and July 30, 2010, and ex-bonded on June 25, 2013. DFML produced these 908 units in 2013 and delivered them against pending orders.”
