Artists’ Welfare: Body to finalise proposals this week
A 12-member panel, headed by Adviser to PM on NHLH Irfan Siddiqui, was constituted by PM

The Prime Ministers’ Special Committee for Artists’ Welfare will meet on Friday, March 31, to discuss recommendations sought from committee members and other stakeholders for the well-being of artists. The 12-member panel, headed by Adviser to PM on National History and Literary Heritage (NHLH) Irfan Siddiqui, was constituted by Premier Nawaz Sharif to prepare recommendations for the welfare of people attached with fine arts. Siddiqui’s committee has already taken all stakeholders on board for preparing the report and has also considered the problems being faced by artists working in different fields of arts. NHLH Division Secretary Aamir Hasan is also secretary of the committee while the other members included PTV Chairman Attaul Haq Qasmi, prominent film and drama actors Zeba Muhammad Ali and Laila Zubairi, prominent artist Suhail Ahmad Azizi, PNCA DG Jamal Shah, producers Syed Noor and Ejaz Ahmad Gul, musicians Parvez Haider and Ustad Raees.
