LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the Saaf Pani project was the vital project and there was no room for mistakes and delays in the implementation of this programme.

The chief minister expressed these views while presiding over a meeting on Wednesday to review progress on various aspects of the Saaf Pani project.

Addressing the meeting, Shehbaz said provision of clean potable water was essential for health life and due to inefficiency and nonprofessional attitude of some of the officials the programme has already been delayed. He said the programme would be implemented in the first phase in 37 tehils of South Punjab and it should be implemented with agility and quality.

“The people of South Punjab will be provided potable water in the first phase. A steering committee has been formed to review progress on the programme and the board of the Saaf Pani Company Punjab is also an independent body therefore speedy measures should be taken for its implementation,” Shehbaz said.
