‘Focus on research, development is key’

Explore the possibilities of opening export centres and warehouses in foreign countries to promote exports.

ISLAMABAD: Saarc Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice President Iftikhar Ali Malik said on Tuesday they are focusing on research and development for joint ventures and investment opportunities in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. “CPEC is a game changer for Pakistan as it will create lot of business opportunities in transportation, energy, infrastructure and other sectors,” he said. He added that the local industry should gear up and give more attention towards research and development for competing effectively in the country’s changing business dynamics. “Business community should explore the possibilities of opening export centres and warehouses in foreign countries to promote exports.” Malik also emphasised that young entrepreneurs should be fully encouraged as they have to take the leading role Pakistan’s economic development.
