Unprecedented inflation and water crisis

Letter March 28, 2017
People have to rely on supplies via water tanker operators who routinely overcharge them

ISLAMABAD: The federal capital has been hit hard by unprecedented inflation, rental prices and water shortages. Despite the water crisis being faced by inhabitants, both the plot and construction mafias continue to build palatial bungalows/houses/flats.

Isn’t anyone going to ask them whether there is sufficient water to meet even the basic needs and necessities of the residents of Islamabad such as drinking, bathing, washing, cooking in the kitchen, gardening? We know that water is being stolen with the connivance of the corrupt CDA/MCI officers. People have to rely on supplies via water tanker operators who routinely overcharge them.

There is no one to address the issues of citizens who have become victims of exploitation, corruption and undue protocol.
