Pakistan on Sunday made light work of 2016 World T20 champions West Indies as the visitors downed the hosts by six wickets at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.

Windies were able to manage a meagre total of 111 runs in 20 overs for the loss of eight wickets courtesy leggie Shadab Khan's brilliant debut man-of-the-match performance. He took three wickets for just seven runs in his four overs.

Shadab’s future looks bright, says Sarfraz

Veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik's 38 off 29 in the chase were then enough to give Pakistan a 1-0 lead in the four-match T20I series.

After a great start to the tour, former and current Pakistan players took to twitter to congratulate the team and especially Shadab.

Pakistan Super League chairman Najam Sethi also congratulated Sarfraz for bagging his fifth win in as many matches as the captain of the T20I team.

The International Cricket Council also took notice of the 18-year-old's achievements in his first-ever match.

The statisticians were also busy doing their job.

The fans were also ecstatic
