Need for operation in Punjab University

Letter March 27, 2017
It is high time the authorities pay attention to the presence of armed gangs in universities

LAHORE: What happened in Punjab University on March 21, 2017 was no less than any “Fasad”.  A university is said to be the cultural hub and representative of a nation.  But the existence of extremists groups in our universities is against this universal belief.  It is high time the authorities pay attention to the presence of armed gangs in universities.

The international anti-terrorism and extremism regime has added extremism to its future nemeses as Donald Trump clearly stated in his inaugural speech: “We will go after and eradicate extremism wherever found.”  The existence of extremist mentalities in our universities means Pakistan could be a possible future target for the global anti-terrorism coalition.
