ABBOTTABAD: Asadullah Malik made a comeback in the Haripur district bar, after beating off competition from his predecessor Sardar Abdul Rauf.

But it was not all plain sailing after Rauf boycotted the elections. The legal fraternity on Saturday elected the office bearers of their respective district bars in four districts of Hazara.

While Malik was elected as president of the bar association, Shahid Shah was elected as the general secretary.

However, during the voting session, Rauf announced that he was boycotting the election while accusing election commissioner Advocate Musa Siddique of being partisan.

Rauf demanded that the provincial bar council declare the election null and void.

In other districts, Khan Gul was elected as the president while Malik Sajjad was elected as general secretary in Abbottabad.

In, Mansehra, Basharat Abid Khan and Fahad Habib Tanoli bagged the posts of president and general secretary respectively.
