GILGIT: The Supreme Appellate Court (SAC) of Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) converted death penalties of two men into life imprisonments.

Two Czech nationals – Peter Polasek and Gubicova – were allegedly killed by Mir Ahmed and Dolat Shah in Gupis, a village in Ghizer valley, a few years ago. Police had arrested the culprits who reportedly confessed later that they had committed the murder for money. A lower court and a sessions court had handed down a death penalty to the killers.
