PESHAWAR: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) on Wednesday warned of resorting to agitation if the provincial government did not restore the billboards and panaflexes inscribed with details of the upcoming tableeghi ijtima, scheduled to take place in April.

Addressing a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club, JUI-F leader Amir Khairul Bashar told the media that the provincial government was worried because JUI-F was emerging with more strength.

He said that a huge gathering of some 0.3million people including participants from Saudi Arabia and India were expected to attend the congregation.

“The only objective of the gathering is to unite Muslims,” he said.

Quoting Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Bashar stated that the party chief has always said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has been following a Jewish agenda.

“PTI is following a Jewish agenda and they don’t want unity among Muslims which is why the provincial government has taken down the billboards,” Bashar added.

Former senator Ghulam Ali stated that PTI held a sit-in for over 126 days in the federal capital promoting vulgarity, and attacking the apex court, PTV and the government.

JUI-F leader Jalil Jan said that he sent letters to the chief minister, inspector general of police and other officials concerned for the provision of security of the ijtema however no one responded.
