Robbery or murder? Woman found dead in mysterious circumstances

HARIPUR: Police in Haripur city have booked four members of a family for murder after the body of a woman was found from their house late on Monday evening.

The family claimed that she had been strangled to death during a robbery while the woman’s maternal uncle suspects that she had bene strangled to death by her husband and three other family members.

Farooq Shah told City police that his maternal niece, 26-year-old Nabila Bibi, had been married to Tayab Shah of Muhallah Darwesh. The couple did not have any children.

On Monday morning, Shah said Nabila sent him a message on the mobile messaging application Whatsapp stating that her husband and other members of her family were constantly making her life difficult. Shah added that Nabila had expressed the fear that her in-laws could kill her ‘at any time’.

Later in the evening, she was found dead in her bedroom.

Shah lodged a complaint against Nabila’s husband Tayab, brother-in-law Syed Ali Raza, mother-in-law and sister-in-law for murdering her. Based on the complaint, police booked the four but have yet to arrest them.

Meanwhile, Nabila’s in-laws told police that her husband was in Lahore while her mother and brother-in- law were attending a marriage ceremony and her sister-in-law was at university when Nabila was allegedly killed.

They further told the police that when Nabila’s sister-in-law returned home from university on Monday evening, she found Nabila dead and belongings of the house missing.
