World Water Day 2017: IMC needs to better manage water
Groundwater depletion, water shortage and waste water management are major problems of Islamabad
ISLAMABAD:
Groundwater depletion, water shortage and waste water management are the major problems that the capital faces, said Islamabad Deputy Mayor Muhammad Azam on Monday. “A Committee constituted in this regard has conducted more than 15 meetings. We want to resolve these issues with the coordination of government, opposition and organisations like PCRWR,” he remarked. Earlier PCRWR Chairman Dr Muhammad Ashraf said the theme of World Water Day 2017 was wastewater. “We are polluting our water and hence poisoning our Natural Spring of Life. If we conserve we will be able to reduce our waste water production and its management will become easy,” Ashraf said.
