It is rather amusing to see the US government using Sharia when it suits them to do so.
KARACHI: With regard to the release of CIA contractor Raymond Davis, how often is the law relating to blood money invoked in Pakistan? Taking the Davis release as a precedent, if demands were made that the Taseer family be persuaded to accept ‘blood money’ and ‘pardon’ Mumtaz Qadri, what would be their response? No blood money was paid, say the Americans. What kind of a blood money is it that is paid not by the murderer but by someone else?
Also, it is rather amusing to see the US government using Sharia when it suits them to do so. Should they not invoke it now to decide the fate of inmates in Guantanamo Bay? The details of the ‘deal’ should be made public so that Pakistanis know what was traded.
Furthermore, why don’t the federaland Punjab governments showsimilar ‘efficiency’ in resolving theproblems of ordinary Pakistanis?
