The Ministry of Water and Power, while responding to a news story published in The Express Tribune under the headline “ADB stresses full recovery of consumer bills”, has stated that the issue of consumer bills and their 100% recovery did not come up for discussion with Asian Development Bank (ADB) representatives in a meeting with them. In a statement, the ministry said the sitting only took up specific agenda matters including the overview of power distribution and transmission enhancement investment programmes, performance review of NTDC/DISCOs and their capacity building through indoor training in design, procurement and contract management. “The ADB was supportive and much appreciative of the ministerial efforts,” it said.
