PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday arrested an Islamia College student for blackmailing his former teacher by posting objectionable photos of her on Facebook.

The SHO of cybercrime police station Peshawar Adnan Jan led the FIA team in a raid on a house and arrested the juvenile suspect.

“We had received complaints that a teacher of Shaheen School [run by the Pakistan Air Force] was being blackmailed by an unidentified person,” an FIA official told The Express Tribune.

The complainant, according to him, had said that the suspect had created a fake Facebook page and posted objectionable and private pictures of the teacher.

He added, “Cybercrimes are quite common, but the strange thing in this case is that the boy was blackmailing his former teacher.” The official also informed that the suspect is a resident of Khyber Colony, located in the Tehkal area of the city.

The official also confirmed that the accused is a juvenile offender and added that an FIR has been registered against the suspect.
