Foreign qualified: Around 2,500 appear for NEB STEP-I exams

ISLAMABAD: As many as 2,478 candidates appeared for the National Examination Board exam for Step-I. The examination is for Pakistani nationals who have foreign basic medical qualifications.

This was stated by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) on Thursday who had held the examination in collaboration with the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) Rawalpindi.

Acting PMDC Registrar Dr Syed Azhar Ali Shah said that the examinations were held in two centres, with 1,777 candidates appearing at the Pak-China Center in Islamabad while 701 candidates appeared at the Army Medical College in Rawalpindi. Results for of Ste- I Basic Theory would be announced on March 24on NUMS and PMDC official websites.

Step-II exams, he said, are scheduled to be held on May 4. Candidates who will pass NEB Step- I & II exam shall be eligible to appear in NEB Step-III exam.
