A jirga of National Assembly members was held on Thursday to sort out differences between PTI MNA Murad Saeed and PML-N MNA Javed Latif, Radio Pakistan reported.

During the jirga, Latif apologised to Saeed for using offensive language directed at the latter's sisters. Saeed accepted the apology and thanked the jirga for its efforts.

The efforts of the jirga, headed by FATA MNA Shah Jee Gul Afridi, were also appreciated by the Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad, Dr Arif Alvi, Mina Manan and Ijaz Jakhrani.

Last week, a heated argument between members of the ruling PML-N and opposition’s PTI during an NA session led to a brawl near the doors of the lower house on March 9.

On the floor of the house, Latif termed PTI chief Imran Khan a ‘traitor’ and a ‘madman’. He slapped Saeed during an argument after house proceedings. In reply, Saeed punched him in the face.

After the incident, Latif made offensive remarks about Saeed’s family while addressing the media outside the National Assembly.
