RAWALPINDI:
The Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner Talat Mehmood Gondal Tuesday directed the concerned officials to complete rehabilitation work on government schools buildings which were in dilapidated condition before April 30. Chairing a meeting, he directed the officials to devise a mechanism for monitoring and keeping a check on ongoing repair work, adding that it should be up to standards. In this regard he directed that payments to contractors would be released after it is confirmed that work was done. Meanwhile Deputy Director Development Saima Ghafoor said that a survey found that 178 school buildings in the city were in dilapidated condition.
